PhaseTech Spectroscopy has an immediate opening for a technically oriented ultrafast scientist to design, assemble, and install advanced ultrafast instrumentation.
PhaseTech was founded in 2012 by Martin Zanni and Chris Middleton, which grew out of a research laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It has commercialized AOM-based femtosecond pulse shapers and ultrafast two-dimensional spectroscopy, and now sells instruments around the U.S. and the world. (Amsterdam, Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, China, D.C., England, Germany, India, L.A., Nashville, N.Y.C., Philadelphia, Prague, Singapore, ...)
Responsibilities will include all aspects of assembling and installing the instruments, designing product improvements (hardware and software), as well as research and development of new products. Travel about once per 1-2 months will be required.
While not requirements, when applying please highlight any experience with: mechanical design, assembly, programming, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CAD, electronics, motion control, oscilloscopes, optical design, optical alignment, lasers, data acquisition, and spectroscopy; or strong skills in computers (hardware/software), math, and science.
